ATP Stuttgart πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ Day 2 Results

Updated: Jun 11

It can already be seen that serves are a huge part of grass, as the big servers are using this weapon heavily.

Sam Querrey d James Duckworth 6-4 7-6(7)

Querrey once again winning 95% of his serves, essentially winning him the game, with 23-2 aces.

Marin Cilic d Nikoloz Basilashvilli (5) 6-3 6-2

Cilic just dominated everywhere, and it was what was expected, winning 100% of his first serves! Only losing 8 points on his serve. Cilic looks in great form, with his next opponent 1st seed Shapovalov.

Dominik Stephan Stricker d Huber Hurkacz (2) 7-6(5) 7-6(5)

Stricker's 4th tiebreak in a row! After defeating Radu Albot in two tiebreak sets, he does it again! A relatively even match, but Stricker winning when needed. Great composure for the 18yo!

Ugo Humbert (6) d Yannick Hanfmann 7-6(9) 6-2

Humbert won a very close first set, but essentially won the match after the first set because Hanfmann's mentality went out the window.

Alex De Minaur (2) d Jordan Thompson 6-7(8) 6-3 6-4

After a close first set, De Minaur was not playing anywhere near to his potential. Thompson and his serve kept him in it, but as soon as 'The Demon' kicked in, there was no stopping him.

Felix Auger-Aliassime (3) d Lloyd Harris 6-3 7-6(4)

Felix is also starting off the grass season well, with a straight sets victory over someone who challenged the Canadian, but started off strongly. With Hukacz out, the path is a bit more clear for the title in the bottom half of the draw.
