What a 5 set Thriller! In their careers, Djokovic has had the 5set win ratio of 34-10, comparing to Tsitsipas 5-4. Ultimately, experience prevailed, winning his second Roland Garros title, and his 19th Grand Slam. Tsitsipas needs that Grand Slam experience and conditioning to know what it feels like in this sort of environment. This just comes with experience. Much like Zverev choked his US Open final last year, both Tsitsipas and Zverev now know what it feels like, and can improve their performance next Grand Slam final, which is sure to be soon as the next gen takeover.
After being down a break in the 5th, Tsitsipas tried his best to comeback, and clearly lost all nerves, which was great to see, but ultimately not as smart as Novak Djokovic. Novak was hitting slower first serves so Tsitsipas could not anticipate Novak's second serve that he approached so well during the match. In a tense match, it is truly the experienced players who come out on top in managing and overcoming nerves.
