ATP Bastad 🇸🇪 SF Results

Federico Coria d Yannick Hanfmann 6-2 6-1

Although Hanfmann looked more aggressive, he hits the ball higher over the net, and allowed Coria to hit his groundstrokes harder on a downward motion, essentially proving more aggressive. Coria pipped Hanfmann in the first game, and from there it was all downhill for the German. Coria was brilliant in turning defence into attack. It did not help that Yannick was very inconsistent and impatient. Coria did well to bounce back from a tough 3 set win against Garin, but is building the momentum nicely for the final against Ruud.

Casper Ruud (1) d Roberto Carballes-Baena 6-1 6-4

Once again Ruud has gotten off to a brilliant start, leading 5-0 in the first set, very similar to his last opponent in Holger Rune. Ruud has only dropped 7 games this tournament, with one match being a walkover. The only downfall to the Norwegian's easy run is the lack of competitive matchplay that Coria will bring to the table. Coria could surprise Ruud, and he may not be ready to react to a surprise. The one thing about Ruud that makes him world no 16 is his consistency. If an opponent surprises him, he remains focused and continues to play strong.
