ATP Eastbourne 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 QF Results

Lorenzo Sonego (3) d Alexander Bublik (8) 6-1 7-5

Bublik unfortunately just did not show up. His mentality was awful from the get go, serving 6 underarm serves in the match. He was doing bottle flips in the breaks, and clearly did not care about winning. Sonego was switched on, and had the crowd with him too. It would not be surprising if Sonego reaches the final.

Soon Woo Kwon d Ilya Ivashka 6-4 7-5

Kwon had lost all 7 of his previous QF matches, but not this time! He played exceptional tennis. What won him the match was his mentality, not losing it like Ivashka did at times. Mentality is what separates a lot of players in the ATP tour, and Kwon's rank of 77 is sure to continue to rise, just being 23yo.

Max Purcell d Andreas Seppi 6-4 1-6 6-3

Purcell does it again! The world no 283 reaches his maiden SF! He definitely looked nervous in the latter of the match, and was lucky he did not have to serve it out because of the pressure just like we saw with Monfils in the second set yesterday. It is difficult seeing him defeat Sonego, but you never know!

Alex De Minaur (2) d Vasik Pospisil 6-4 6-4

De Minaur continues to stun big servers on the grass, with another straight sets victory. De Minaur just loves to hit the ball on the rise, not only removing time from the opponent, but removing height too. This is perfect against people like Pospisil who are tall and use a big timed swing.
