After a scare early in each set, Gaston's luck finally wore thin. Ruud, who has a 25/5 W/L ratio, fought past the Frenchman's slick drop shots, and was able to push through the 20yo's tricks. Ruud utilises his top spin excellently against the shorter Frenchman (only 1.72m!). Ruud had 16 break point opportunities but Gaston did have the 10, it was not easy to only allow 1/10 to slip through. Ruud did well, but he is backing up again in Kitzbuhel. Ruud is on a 8-match winning streak, and we will see if his body holds up in Austria. Ruud earning his 4th title in Gstaad!
